गणानां त्वा गणपतिं हवामहे

कविं कवीनामुपमश्रवस्तमम् ।
ज्येष्ठराजं ब्रह्मणां ब्रह्मणस्पत
आ नः शृण्वन्नूतिभिः सीद सादनम् ॥
Gannaanaam Tvaa Ganna-Patim Havaamahe
Kavim Kaviinaam-Upama-Shravastamam |
Jyessttha-Raajam Brahmannaam Brahmannaspata
Aa Nah Shrnnvan-Uutibhih Siida Saadanam ||

•  गणानां - of all the gaNAs - gaNa means a class of individuals, anything that can be counted (गणना - one who keeps account; गणक - calculator; गणनीय - worthy of counting), a band, 
• त्वा - you 
• गणपतिं - the head of all gaNAs (गणप - head of a corporation; Shiva is called gaNapathi; leader of an assembly; 
• भूमिरापोऽनलो वायुः खं मनो बुद्धिरेव च ।
• अहङ्कार इतीयं मे भिन्ना प्रकृतिरष्टधा ॥ ७-४॥
• हवामहे - we worship (invoke, call) 
• कविं - the all knowing, an expert, singer, seer, prophet, leader, man of understanding, intelligent person, skillful, wise, thinker, gifted with insight, one who can see things that other cannot 
• कवीना - of all the कविs 
• उपमश्रवस्तम - highly renowned (by all the great ones); 
• उपम - highest or resembling or first or uppermost 
• श्रवस् - renowned or famed or having good reputation
• तम - superlative degree of adjectives 
•  ज्येष्ठराजं - the highest of all leaders, the eldest (first born or unborn)
•  ज्येष्ठ - the chief, the eldest, the senior most, pre-eminent, first 
• ब्रह्मणां - self existing spirit, divine, sacred, vedAs, absolute, supreme spirit
• ब्रह्मणस्पत - of all that is worthy of worship, the embodiment of supreme spirit, the OmkAra 
• आ नः शृण्वन्नूतिभिः - come and kindly listen to our prayers 
• Shrnnvan - upon listening to our   
• ऊति - meaning of helping or promoting or refreshing, kindness, help; it is a way of offering prayers to someone to seek help or protection
• सीद सादनम्  - having settled into your seat
