 ವಿಣ್ಮೂತ್ರಾ-ಮೇಧ್ಯ-ಮಧ್ಯೇ ಕ್ವಥಯತಿ ನಿತರಾಂ ಜಾಠರೋ ಜಾತವೇದಾಃ |
 ಯದ್ಯದ್ವೈ ತತ್ರ ದುಃಖಂ ವ್ಯಥಯತಿ ನಿತರಾಂ ಶಕ್ಯತೇ ಕೇನ ವಕ್ತುಂ ಕ್ಷಂತವ್ಯೊ ಮೇSಪರಾಧಃ ಶಿವ ಶಿವ ಶಿವ ಭೋಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾದೇವ ಶಂಭೋ ।। 1 ।।  ಬಾಲ್ಯೇ ದುಃಖಾತಿರೇಕಾತ್-ಮಲ-ಲುಲಿತ-ವಪುಃ ಸ್ತನ್ಯಪಾನೇ ಪಿಪಾಸಾ
 ನೊ ಶಕ್ತಶ್ಚೇಂದ್ರಿಯೇಭ್ಯೋ ಭವಗುಣ-ಜನಿತಾ ಜಂತವೋ ಮಾಂ ತುದಂತಿ | 
ನಾನಾರೋಗಾದಿ-ದುಃಖಾದ್-ರುದನ-ಪರವಶಃ ಶಂಕರಂ ನ ಸ್ಮರಾಮಿ
 ಕ್ಷಂತವ್ಯೊ ಮೇSಪರಾಧಃ ಶಿವ ಶಿವ ಶಿವ ಭೋಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾದೇವ ಶಂಭೋ || 2 || ಪ್ರೌಢೊಹಂ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥೊ-ವಿಷಯ-ವಿಷಧರೈಃ ಪಂಚಭಿರ್-ಮರ್ಮಸಂಧೌ
 ದಷ್ಟೊ ನಷ್ಟೊ ವಿವೇಕಃ ಸುತ-ಧನ-ಯುವತಿ-ಸ್ವಾದು-ಸೌಖ್ಯೇ ನಿಷಣ್ಣಃ |

Bhakti - the very idea is beautiful. It is an emotion that has been a driving force for an entire culture for centuries. It has inspired innumerable  people,  poems, proses, and practices.  The word "bhakti" when translated can mean many things: revere, honor, adore, practice, worship, prefer, enjoy, partake, engage in, relish, supply, furnish, bestow, grant, divide, choose, declare etc. However, there are things that cannot be understood through translation but through personal experience. Bhakti is one such emotion that can be experienced, not understood.  Bhakti involves multiple aspects - a subject (bhakta - the attracted), an object (bhagawan - the attracting) and a process (vidhi). "bhakta" is one who is faithful, loyal, devoted, and to an extent  obsessed. "bhakta" is attracted to the "bhaga" or the opulence in his object of worship, so a bhakta adores or loves or worships and serves his "bhagawAn". Depending on one's inclina...
